Call For Volunteers
The East Tennessee Discovery Center is looking for community volunteers, “a few (many) good men (women)” to help with specific tasks, such as; 1. Upkeep of landscaped areas surrounding the Center which will include, weeding, trimming, mulching and “designing” small areas for planting. All materials needed to accomplish this “on-going” task will be provided. If you have a green thumb, (or not), love working outside, and want to create areas of natural beauty to be enjoyed by many, become a Discovery Center volunteer. 2. Do you like to troubleshoot computer problems, develop forms and formulas for maintaining easily accessed data information? The Discovery Center needs your ideas and help. 3. Do you like fish? The Discovery Center has ten aquaria containing freshwater and saltwater fish, anemones, coral and more that need a loving hand to keep them looking and feeling their best ALL the time. 4. Are their some out there that like to build, for example, items such as storage shelving, enclosures for our physical science area inhabitants? 5. Last but not least, are you an organizer? Do you love to see everything in its place and a place for everything? The Discovery Center can satisfy that need. In addition to the list above, do you know people and or business’ that find it very rewarding to donate MATERIALS such as mulch, plants, buildings materials etc. to a worthy non-profit organization like the Discovery Center? Be sure to let them know they will be recognized for their generosity. If you fit the bill for any of the above or just want to help in any way, please contact the Discovery Center at 594-1494, Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm. |
