"Young Scientist Camp"
for 6 - 7 year olds.

This camp features three different days of science
fun, including geology, physical science, and chemistry. Erupt
a volcano and test minerals as we explore the rock cycle. Explore
the concepts of light and color one day and even make a colorful
light catcher and glow dough! Experience one day of kitchen chemistry
where young scientists make ice cream and bubblegum!
"Slippery, Slimy Chemistry Camp"
for 8 - 12 year olds.
Monday, June 7 - Friday, June 11, 2010
9:00 am - 12:00 noon
Cost: $80 (includes t-shirt, all supplies & daily snack)
Have a slimy learning experience! Make rubber bouncy balls
and erasers! Do glow-in-the-dark chemical reactions and the
Magic Super Water Slurper Trick. Change the color of solutions
using titrations and make ice cream and bubblegum, along with
other edible chemistry experiments. This camp will concentrate
on a different type of chemical concoction each day!
"Insides and Out Dissection Camp"
for ages 11 & up.
Monday, June 28 - Thursday, July 1, 2010
9:00 am - 12:00 noon
Cost: $80 (includes t-shirt, all supplies & daily snack)
Learn about both the inside and outside of many different animals!
Dissect 7 species including and earthworm, grasshopper, crayfish,
clam, starfish, perch, and frog. Learn about the different
body systems of these animals and how they are like or unlike
our own body systems. This is a great camp for home school
students who need to fill the requirements of a secondary biology
lab.
"Model Rocket Camp"
for 8 - 14 year olds
Monday, July 12 - Friday, July 16, 2010
9:00 am - 12:00 noon
Cost: $80 (includes t-shirt, all supplies & daily snack)
Aspiring NASA engineers and astronauts will construct and decorate
their own model rocket. See an Akima Planetarium show about
the planets! Learn about what is needed to survive space travel,
then design and build a space ship or space station from recyclable
goods. Taste freeze-dried ice cream! For our finale, families
are invited to participate on the final day of camp as we launch
our rockets into the sky!
“Fetal Pig Dissection Camp”
for ages 11 & up, with dissection experience.

Cost: $65 (includes t-shirt, all supplies & daily snack)
Explore the body systems of a fetal pig and learn how these body systems are
similar to ours and some health and fitness issues that concern each of these
systems in our bodies. The first day will involve the integumentary and muscular
systems of the body. The skeletal, respiratory, and circulatory systems will
be explored on day two. Finally, the digestive and reproductive systems will
be explored.
